Q: Why do we use
a fleece outer shell instead of cotton or cotton flannel?
A: Think about it, cotton is known
for it moisture-absorbing qualities but polyester fleece is known for
its' ability to wick moisture through to the outside. Therefore, when
the organic filling we use is heated in the microwave, the fleece wicks
the moisture it produces through to where you can get the benefit of
it.
Why is this important? Because, as most
of us are aware, rheumatologists, chiropractors, massage therapists
and other healthcare professionals recommend and use moist heat
to help alleviate the pain of arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Raynaud's Disease,
Lupus, sports injuries and many other conditions.

Can you freeze Heavenly
Heat Comfort Paks?
Yes! Freeze for approximately 1 - 1.5 hours.
They will not have the extreme cold of ice next to the skin but are
a comfortable cold pack. There is also the added advantage of not dripping
condensation on skin or clothes (as can gel packs or that bag of frozen
peas you've been using!)

Q: What are Heavenly
Heat Comfort Paks filled with?
After much experimentation, looking for organics
that would provide the highest moisture content, we settled on a high
density, hybrid corn (which doesn't cook or get mushy.) We not only
liked the moisture it produced but also the weight and texture of the
end product.

Q: Do you have to
soak or spray the packs with water?
No! Because these grains draw moisture from
the air and release it when heated in the microwave, it is a continuous
cycle and does not require soaking, boiling or misting.

Q: How should Heavenly
Heat Comfort Paks be stored?
Do not store them in a plastic bag, even
if you received them in one. This is especially true if the Pak is still
warm from the microwave, as this could result in mildew. The best solution
is to keep them in a drawer or on a shelf, or even just in a paper bag.

Q: Can Heavenly
Heat Comfort Paks be laundered?
Hand wash & line dry. Do not machine wash, put in
a dryer or leave soaking in water.

Q: What is the Aroma-Pocket?
Each Heavenly Heat Comfort Pak has a crescent-shaped
pocket on one side. This allows you to insert one of our Heavenly
Scent Sacs (available in packs of three (3) & in scents of:
Lavender, Wild Mint, Eucalyptus or an assorted pack with one (1) of
each scent.) Or you may choose to put a few drops of essential
oil on a cotton ball & put that in the Aroma-Pocket.
The obvious advantage to this method rather
than having the scent on the inside of the Comfort Pak is that you can
change the aromatherapy scents whenever you like. For instance, if you
have congestion you may want to use Eucalyptus or Wild Mint, and if
you're having difficulty sleeping, Lavender may be the one you choose.
On the other hand . . . some days you may not want any added scent at
all.
You may have seen organic heat packs that
are strongly scented with Lavender or other floral-smelling aromas.
While this can be pleasant initially, you may not want that particular
smell all the time.
